Really well explained, nice job. I shared on facebook and X. I wish you were the foreman of the jury.

Bob,

All your points are points are spot on. Nice piece of writing.

Whether he is convicted or not in the "election interference" trial, the effect has been significant. His image as a powerful politician and businessman is being diminished. His required silence in a common courtroom shows us a side of Trump that is losing its luster. An adult film star is getting more sympathy and attention than him. We now can envision Trump in his undershorts and t-shirt looking up at a dismayed and disgusted woman. Big "ewe.." moment.

Here is my optimistic coffee induced vision. Whether or not he is convicted in this trial, he will be withered in the public eye. And perhaps more importantly, every minute he is in court is a minute he is being quietly humiliated - rather than being a bloviator to a public that sees him as a great entertainer.

Biden/Harris will prevail on November 5th. Trump will rail against the verdict by the public. But he will be continuously silenced as he attends the next three trials over the next few years. And...permit me to be so bold as to suggest that he doesn't do well in civil trials. Attorneys will be inspired by E Jean Carrol's monetary awards. The sharks will circle. I see Trumpism dying due to unending litigation (sweet irony!) and the nation becoming interested in someone more entertaining over the long run. Trump will be a side show.

After the election #46 should see that #45’s passport is revoked.

Thanks, Bill! I hope you're right. Stormy's testimony was more important for the court of public opinion than the court of law. It's almost as if his defense was focused on the former rather than the latter. Perhaps the prosecution planned it that way.

I read that Karen McDougal won't be called as a witness. Cohen should be up soon. I hope his ego doesn't get in the way of his testimony.

Nicely written Bob! What a theater we are all watching and with such high stakes! Once again, to us, it’s an alternate universe we live in if this QD gets off and a nightmare, if reelected. Good Lord!

Another cogent explanation of the legal doctrine behind the sensationalism that MSM focuses upon in order to sell their "wares". I believe in your other life you were a Master Carpenter because you always lower the hammer squarely upon the head of the nail.

Thanks, Warren! In actuality, my father was a master carpenter, and as a kid, I was a helper. He used to say of my nailing prowess, "Bob, you hammer like lightnin'! Never strike twice in the same place!"

Well done. It's too bad that the media can't accommodate the idea that there is more to the trial than the sex life of the failed insurrectionist.

Interestingly, about an hour after I posted this, Chris Jansing made a very similar point questioning the irrelevance of the truth of the story (not the relevance of Stormy telling her story to the public though), to which attorney Renato Mariotti responded, "Good question!" He then expanded the notion. Maybe it will gain some traction.

A half hour or so later, though, Chris was talking to Lawrence O'Donnell, who was all in on the veracity of Stormy's testimony, and Chris didn't push back. That would have been good if she put a bug in his ear.

It has to be tough for most media people to push back on O'Donnell, but you're absolutely right.
