While there won’t likely be any specific controversial referenda to vote on in 2024, and the election will mostly be about choosing individuals to represent us in local, state, and federal capacities, there will certainly be a substantial number of critical matters to be decided.
I think these two contrasting lists would work very well as a meme and could go viral. I really don't have the design skills to make a good one, though. Great post.
Excellent. I plan to share, with credits to you, of course! Maybe one more statement about equality and dignity for all? I like the high level of your reasons but think addressing the targeting of POC, LGBTQ, non-Christians, etc. is a huge delineator.
Thanks, Cathy. I added "Equality and dignity as human rights." I think I kinda covered your other comment in the Republican side of the (im)balance sheet: "Safe harbor for bigotry, fascism, authoritarianism." I don't want to get too specific or detailed in that section. Sound okay?
Latecomer via Bob's comment on Robert Hubbell's letter of 10/27/23...
I agree with Cathy's direction. Great list, but I had to circle back on the Democratic list to find where equity, justice, and civil rights fit in and would therefore name them, and conversely on the Republican list, the institutional isms are much bigger than bigotry.
They are deeply, perniciously ingrained, so need to be called out: racism, sexism, classism, antisemitism, homophobia, transphobia. Sorry they detract from elegant brevity, and sorry they exist!
That said, great list, and I look forward to the day I try it out on Maga relatives!
Well said.

Yes! Thanks, and I applaud the brevity! Perfect!
Very well put, Bob! I have shared it and will do more of that. Kudos.
Thanks Bill! I've noticed a huge jump in views!
